Upon attempt to send email from your computer, EmailSupervisor will suspend emailing and display
a corresponding wizard, which will allow you to configure Rules for this email client, all email recipients, and the rules for all email attachments. Later on it will always be possible to edit the list of saved rules
using Blocking Rules and Exceptions elements of the EmailSupervisor Control Panel.
Email summary
When outgoing email is detected and EmaiSupervisor can't handle it automatically according to your custom rules, the summary screen with related important information about the email will be displayed. The screen will allow you to save
the complete email content to your drive in a standard .eml format, which is compatible with all up-to-date email clients. If you don't plan frequent correspondence with the recipients specified in this email, you can use Allow Once or Block Once buttons.
Otherwise, we recommend that you customize the rules for these recipients/attachments. This will allow EmailSupervisor to automatically handle similar emails in future without disturbing you.
Program Rule
This will allow you to specify the rules for given email client that attempts to send an email.
This window contains the name of the program, the full path to the program and the copyright information about this program.
The name and copyright information are taken from «verinfo» resource of the program. If that program doesn't contain «verinfo» resource, these values won't be displayed.
To view the list of saved rules or to edit incorrectly specified ones, and also to add new rules using Email Client Rules on EmailSupervisor Control Panel.
Recipient Rules
This window allows you to specify rules for all recipients in outgoing email. The rules for each recipient are configured separately. We recommend that you mark as Allow the people you are communicating every day (family, friends, co-workers and etc.),
and mark as Warn people you want to track all emails to (boss, partners, clients, and etc.). This will allow you to prevent accidental sending of email intended, say, to your friend or boss.
To view the list of saved rules or edit incorrectly specified ones, and also to manually add new rules, please use «Recipient Rules».
Attachment Rules
This window allows experienced users to set rules for all attachments in outgoing email. The rules for each type of attachment are configured separately. Please note, that the rules are applied to all attachments of the same type.
For example, if an email contains two .zip attachments, the rule created for the first attachment works for the second one too. To view the list of saved rules or edit incorrectly specified ones, and also to manually add new rules, please use «Recipient Rules» on EmailSupervisor Control Panel.
Resetting All Settings
To delete all the rules created by you, cancel all your changes to the existing rules and restore the default values for all the modules at once, select «Reset All Settings» in the context menu which is displayed when you click the EmailSupervisor icon near the clock.
Attention! If suddenly your web browser, media player or any other program that you've never used as a default email client tries to send an email, this a clear indication of hijacking this program and intrusion into your computer.
Block this attempt of emailing your possibly sensitive data and check your computer for viruses and spyware ASAP.
