To open EmailSupervisor Control Panel click on the EmailSupervisor icon near the clock, point to Installed Modules and select EmailSupervisor. If you are using Windows XP and cannot locate the icon, click on the circle near the clock.
Temporarily Disabling EmailSupervisor
To temporarily disable the EmailSupervisor module without losing your settings, uncheck the "Enable EmailSupervisor" checkbox. To enable EmailSupervisor, check the "Enable EmailSupervisor" checkbox again.
If you want to temporarily disable all the EmailSupervisor modules at once, please select
«Disable All Modules» in the context menu, that can be displayed by clicking the EmailSupervisor icon near the clock. To enable all the modules at once choose «Enable All Modules» in the same context menu.
EmailSupervisor notifications
Every time EmailSupervisor blocks outgoing email, it displays a corresponding notification near the clock. Unselect "Show notifications", if you do not want to receive EmailSupervisor notifications.
Please keep in mind that without such a notifications you will not know that an email has been blocked. However, you can always review the full protocol of all blocked outgoing emails and reasons for those blockages in the EmailSupervisor log file.
Email Client Rules
Upon attempt to send email from your computer, EmailSupervisor will suspend emailing and display
a corresponding wizard, which will allow you to configure Rules for this email. To view the list of saved rules or edit incorrectly specified ones, and also to manually add new rules, please use «Email Client Rules».
Note. The «Email Client Rules» list is also used by HTTPSupervisor module, if it's installed on your computer to protect your privacy. When after receiving another junk email your email client will try to load a picture or script from somebody else's site,
by this validating your email address, HTTPSupervisor will display a corresponding warning.
Recipient Rules
We recommend that you mark as Allow the people you are communicating every day (family, friends, co-workers and etc.), and mark as Warn people you want to track all emails to (boss, partners, clients, and etc.).
This will allow you to prevent accidental sending of email intended, say, to your friend or boss. To view the list of saved rules or edit incorrectly specified ones, and also to manually add new rules, please use «Recipient Rules».
Attachment Rules
Experienced users can get the full advantage of EmailSupervisor by specifying rules for each email attachment. Inexperienced users can disable this functionality by unmarking the
Monitor email attachments checkbox. To view the list of saved rules or edit incorrectly specified ones, and also to manually add new rules, please use «Attachment Rules».
*Note: Attachments are controlled by type (extension). For example, if email contains two .zip attachments, the rule created for the first attachment works for the second one too.
Resetting All Settings
To delete all the rules created by you, cancel all your changes to the existing rules and restore the default values for all the modules at once, select «Reset All Settings» in the context menu which is displayed when you click the EmailSupervisor icon near the clock.
EmailSupervisor Logs
The complete list of sent emails can be viewed from the EmailSupervisor Control Panel. EmailSupervisor log contains sending time, user name, email client name, reason of blocking, if EmailSupervisor blocked this attempt, all email recipients, email subject and also the size of email in kilobytes.
On EmailSupervisor Logs page you can use the following options:
Refresh: Use this button to synchronize the information displayed on the screen with the data in the log files.
Clear: Use this button to clear the log file content. All data will be completely deleted and the log files become 1 kilobyte in size.
Limit log size: To set up the size limit of the log file (in KB) enter a suitable number into that field. It is recommended to empty this file after changing the size limit by clicking the "Clear" button.
Attention! If suddenly your web browser, media player or any other program that you've never used as a default email client tries to send an email, this a clear indication of hijacking this program and intrusion into your computer.
Block this attempt of emailing your possibly sensitive data and check your computer for viruses and spyware ASAP.
