How do delete cookies from Internet Explorer?

Cookies are small text files that are used by websites to store temporary information onto the user’s system during a particular browsing session.

These cookies may contain authentication data, session data, browsing history, etc. So, effectively cookies contain personal data that may be linked to a person for any given site.

Cookies provide functionality of storing information that will allow the website to identify the user and based on that information serve custom information or data as requested by the client.

Cookies often do not get deleted themselves and it would be the responsibility of the user to clear this data for security reasons. All browsers support such cookies.

Here we will look at how to clear cookie information from Internet Explorer. To delete cookies from Internet Explorer follow the below given instructions:
•    Open the Internet Explorer browser.
•    Click on tools and then choose Internet Options.
•    In the Internet Options dialog box, under the general tab, click on the button which says “Delete Cookies”.
•    Internet Explorer will prompt whether you want to really delete the cookies. Click on Ok under this option.

This will delete all the cookies that are stored onto the hard drive through the Internet Explorer browser.

It has to be noted that if any other browser is also used on the system other than IE, the user would need to delete the cookies under that browser as well by following the steps for deleting cookies under those browsers.

Deleting cookies in Internet Explorer wouldn’t delete the cookies from other browsers.
